Meet Margaret

I am Margaret Anne Murphy (she/they)! Growing up I was a child of many passions --gymnastics, basketball, ballet, and even the trombone for a brief period! I was always involved in theatre, but it wasn't until my family moved from rural Arkansas to the suburbs of Washington, D.C. that my passion for acting fully bloomed. At the age of nine I began taking classes at Acting For Young People and made the decision this was the path for me.

Since then I've continued my theatrical training at places such as Fairfax Academy for Musical Theatre, Interlochen Arts Camp, and Drama Studio London culminating with my BFA in Actor Training from the Hartt School in West Hartford, Connecticut. I've also worked as an intern at Round House Theatre and served as a student ambassador at Shakespeare Theatre Company. Since graduating college and returning to D.C., I've discovered a new passion for photography and modeling which has helped me find community beyond the stage. When I'm not preparing for a show, auditioning, or doing a photoshoot I can be found in the kitchen cooking up yummy vegan dishes, outdoors enjoying a scenic hike, or working on my new actor photo series, "The Portrayers!"
